I am so excited to announce a new level of pet care coming soon from Janz Haus. I have been researching the benefits of Cannabidoil (CBD) made from Hemp for the treatment of a number of ailments for dogs. CBD from hemp is a product from the Cannabis family but does not produce euphoria or intoxication rather it effectively targets receptors in the brain and body. I have been testing CBD with my dogs and have noticed their general health and well being improvements are so evident that I want to share the product and it's benefits with my clients and fellow dog owners. 

Here's what I have learned from my research and in working with my dogs. In pets, CBD treats a variety of general health issues such as pain management (arthritic, chronic) allergies, stress, anxiety, aggression, seizures, inflamation, digestive issues and more. This is particularly beneficially to dogs who are seniors and having difficulty being active due to joint pain or digestive issues as well as puppies and younger dogs in leading healthy, happy lives.

CBD will come in a spray or drops as well as doggy treats.

All grown up now, my Big Boys are coming home with their new owners to our K9 Fundamental and Handling Workshop on July 8th presented by Janzhaus German Shepherds and Konfident Kanines. So excited to see them!

SUMMER SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR DOG

Well summer has finally arrived so before you set off on a long walk or let your dog run around the back yard be sure to think about the temperature that day.

Here's some tips to keep your dog cool;

• Time your walk - early in the morning or later in the day when it's cooler.
• Be sure your dog has a shady area when outside playing in the yard.
• Keep your house as cool as possible. Leave windows open, ceiling fans on or the A/C on.
• Walk with water and let your dog drink as you go. Take frequent breaks.
• Leave a bowl of fresh water in your yard for play time.
• Never leave your dog in a vehicle on a warm day.
• Remember your dogs paws aren't protected from the hot asphalt or cement so choose grassy surfaces if you can. Touch the pavement. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dogs paw pads.

It's easy to think that because you are enjoying the walk and are comfortable, your dog is too. Most dogs can't handle the heat as well as us humans, so keep a close eye on your dog and cut the walk short if your dog is panting or flagging.
